Breaking Bad Habits

January 9, 2008

I’ve been reading some psychology text books on behavior modification. This is handy for changing your eating habits. Here are the steps:

  1. Count Calories – be accountable and so you can’t be in denial about it. Knowledge is power.
  2. Eat in a designated location (kitchen table) not while your run around.
  3. Slow down! Eat more slowly so you can give the “Full” signal to reach your brain.
  4. Make a contract with yourself. Set specific goals with dates and numbers. Get a workout buddy or a trusted friend to hold you accountable.
