Hunger Chart

January 25, 2008

Some good advice is to learn to eat according to your stomach, not your mind. If you pay close attention, many overweight people (myself included) tend to eat when our mind is wants or just because of ques like it’s dinner time. One way to stop eating out of desire and return to eating only for hunger is to stop and listen to your stomach. The chart below is helpful.  2 or 3 are the best times to eat. 4-6 range are good times to stop.

  1. Ravenous – Too hungry to care what you eat!
  2. Starving – Must eat now please!
  3. Hungry – Could eat, could wait.
  4. Hunger Pangs – Slightly hungry.
  5. Satisfied – not hungry or full.
  6. Full – You can feel your stomach.
  7. Very Full – Stomach is stretched and you’re sleepy.
  8. Uncomfortable – Full and regretful!
  9. Stuffed – Going to pop!
  10. Sick – In a lot of pain!
