Biggest Loser Starts Again
I don’t know what season we’re on now but Biggest Loser starts again January 6th! It’s great timing since everyone will be trying to lsoe weight after New Years.
Michelle Aguilar for last season was awesome! She’s so pretty to begin with and now she’s super hot. She also has a great personality (as far as what has been shown). I’m just glad the b*tch Vicky or Amy didn’t win. I understand it’s a game but in the end you have to live with yourself and America is watching you. I don’t think Vicky was a great person to begin with. I was rooting for Amy but then she didn’t vote vicious Vicky off and I thought that was very weak — dumb girl, she should have known she’s next.

Back at Zero
You know that number on the scale you are trying to avoid? That one number you have in your mind that would be completely unacceptable for you to reach because it would mean you are a 100% mess? Well I hit that number today. For me it was 240 lbs. Um, what happened to that diet? I fell off. Even though I had 2 sessions with a personal trainer, my motivation still left me. Plus, I lost my job so that didn’t help. I’m sitting around more BUT it also means I can go to they gym. I’ve been trying to get inspired again. I’m watching Biggest Loser and I’m reading Jillian’s books amongst others, and playing Wii Fit (FUN!). I consider myself back on the waggon for now…

Biggest Loser Diet Secrets
Psychology Today has an article on
Secrets of the Big Losers
How to reprogram mental eating habits for physical success.
By: Jay Dixit
There’s no question that losing weight is hard and keeping it off even harder. But it’s not impossible. The National Weight Control Registry lists thousands of people who have lost more than 50 pounds and kept it off more than five years. Here’s how to do the same.
Make radical changes. People think moderate dietary changes are easier to stick with. But as with quitting drug addiction, drastic changes are actually easier. “We don’t tell heroin addicts if you stay clean all week, you can reward yourself by shooting up a small amount on the weekend,” says Deirdre Barrett, a psychologist at Harvard Medical School and author of Waistland. “Sugar derails glucose metabolism in a similar way.” She advises cutting out sugars, refined foods, simple carbohydrates, and trans fats.
Reprogram your brain. Losing weight means developing new eating habits—like reaching for an orange instead of an oreo. The hardest part is the first 72 hours, when eating right is an act of will. After two or three weeks of sticking to it, your hunger and cravings subside, and control over eating choices becomes more automatic. Voila, your brain is rewired.
Eat breakfast. Without breakfast, your body plunges into starvation mode, slowing your metabolism and tempting you to binge later. Over 78 percent of the registry’s successful losers eat breakfast every day.
Exercise like you mean it. An evening walk every other day isn’t going to cut it. Ninety percent of registry participants exercised—for a full hour, on average, most days of the week.
Stretch your mind. Stop living on autopilot. A study shows that people who push their comfort zones and try new things—like reading a different magazine or listening to a new radio station—lose weight and keep it off. Breaking out of your routine may make you more aware of your choices in general, and less likely to engage in mindless eating.

Biggest Loser
Ok, I can’t help but watch the show but my gosh, they melodrama is terrible. I HATE IT! I hate how they edit it and dramatize EVERYTHING. Then they insult our intelligence by repeating everything 100 times! Fat doesn’t not = stupid! This show is a good concept but they try way too hard to stretch a decent half hour to hour show over 2 hours AND talk about product placement. Since it’s success they are kinda selling out. All the negative is starting to out weigh the good (pun intended
to the point I’m not really watching it anymore. I say that because I tune in 45 min. into it to see the weigh in and 5-10 mins. before the end to see who they send home. The between is just bull… that’s my 2 cents.
