Consistent Weight Loss Tracking
It is very important for you to use the same scale when you weigh yourself, do it at the same time of day AND make sure you’re wearing the same clothes (or your birthday suit). Each scale can give you a different answer. For example, at the doctor’s office it says I weigh 5 lbs more than what I’m tracking on my home scale and my friend’s scale take off a few pounds compared to my home scale. You see what I mean? Also, wearing the same clothes or lack of clothes can mean the different between .4 lbs loss and about to 4 lbs loss. To keep consistent I weigh myself in the evenings before bed. I shower at night and hit the scale in birthday suit or underwear (it’s easier and more accurate that way).
Why is it so important to track regularly and consistently?
Tracking your weight loss progress with a tape measure and scale will help give you an accurate assessment of how successful and unsuccessful you’ve been. It’s how you can measure and conclude if what you’re doing is working or not. Pounds are a good measure but it is important to know you will gain muscle and so the scale will appear to slow to a stop when you’re really still progressing. I hit this point about a year ago. I was doing so well but the number on the scale stopped dropping. I felt better and like clothes fit better but I stupidly got discourage because the number didn’t drop. I later understood that I was still losing just gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. So hang in there and don’t forget to count inches too! Don’t make my mistake
